"Impressive scanning speed" - VirusBuster for Servers running on Windows Server 2008 again successfully fulfilled the VB100 test criteria
Like in several previous years, the 6th version of VirusBuster Ltd's "VirusBuster for Servers" anti-malware solution again successfully passed the "Virus Bulletin 100%" test, and won another VB100 award for its creators.
Virus Bulletin (www.virusbtn.com), an independent medium of the computer security industry, has carried out comparative testing of anti-virus products for a decade. The first "VB100" awards were issued in 1998, and, since then, they have gained worldwide reputation. The tests focus on virus detection rates and scanning speed, as well as at how each product fares when scanning a set files that are known to be clean.
In order to win the award, the product tested must detect all in the wild (ITW) viruses during both on-demand and on-access scanning, but must not generate any false positives when scanning a set of clean files.
This month the comparative reviews moved to an entirely new platform: the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 system. The VB100 test system saw some considerable evolution too. These changes to the test sets with the new platform seemed to provide a pretty tough challenge for those vendors striving for the VB100 award.
As Virus Bulletin's experienced tester, John Hawes wrote in his analysis, "Scanning speeds (of VirusBuster for Servers) were pretty impressive, quite startlingly so in scanning miscellaneous file types on demand... VirusBuster completes this comparative on a high, winning a VB100 award."
